Release 2012 of EN 13480 has been approved by CEN.
EN 13480 is the reference document for piping stress analysis and piping support calculation and it complies to essential safety requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC (PED), compulsory for piping pressures above 0.5 barg.
Parts 1,2,3,4,5,6,8 have been revised. More details about changes are listed in Annex Y.
EN 13480 has to been implemented at national level by 31 December 2012.
CEN is working on EN 13480:2013 which should contain a new and important Annex for piping stress engineers: stress allowable design values.
